Chakra pronounced "Cha-kras" is the Sanskrit word for spinning wheel, and refers to the constantly rotating power centers within our energy bodies. Alth
ough there are many charkas within our anatomy, the primary power centers are 7; as well as one on each hand and each foot. These electro-magnetic vortices have a direct correlation to our physical, psychologi
cal, mental/emotional and spiritual well-being. Charkas are positioned in ascending order from the base of the spine up to just past the crown of the head. Each chakra is linked to various characteristics such
as: colours, elements, essences, foods, gemstones/crystals, glands, light, senses, sounds, symbols, the zodiac, etc., just to name a few.
One could say that the charkas are a reflection of an inseparable collection of the different aspects of human life:
Body
Instinct
Vital Energy
Deeper Emotions
Communication
Having an Overview of Life
Connection to God/Universe/Higher Power
The concept of Chakras has variations in other traditions such as Chinese Medicine, Tibetan Buddhism and even Kabbalah, all seeming to represent the same idea of spiritual Archetypes. Carl G. Jung referred to
the charkas as the gateways of consciousness. By understanding various aspects of life experiences stored within these energetic databanks, which eventually reach the cellular point, can bring great healing an
d understanding to our daily lives. When we are able to align and balance our charkas, the effect is Total Equilibrium.
